Mohammad Omar from Jordan: Studying Business Management at Minnesota State University Moorhead

Why did you decide to study in the USA?

Because I have a family living here.

Why did you choose Minnesota State University Moorhead?

It is a special place because of how friendly everyone is and how they try their best to make everyone happy.

What do you like best?

The thing I love most about studying here is how friendly and helpful the professors are.

What do you miss most?

The things I miss most in my country are my childhood friends and my family.

What was your biggest surprise?

The biggest surprise for me about studying here in the U.S. was how kind and helpful my professors were.

... your biggest disappointment?

I used to get frustrated from the exams mostly.

How have you handled:

... finances?

I used to work and my dad used to give me money as well so it wasn’t bad to deal with it.

... adjusting to a different educational system?

It was hard at the beginning of course but the professors were helpful and everyone was willing to help anytime.

What are your activities?

The activities I did were soccer and swimming.

How easy or difficult was making friends?

It wasn’t as hard as I thought; I made a lot of friends.

How relevant is your U.S. education to your personal goals and to the needs of your country?

I would like to work in the automotive field. Studying in U.S. will open great opportunities for me and in my country as well.

What is your advice to other students who are considering a U.S. education?

I would encourage them to do so, and I am sure they will love it and learn a lot more.
