Welcome to #GlobalTCC
Tacoma Community College (TCC) is located just south of Seattle, Washington in the city of Tacoma! Tacoma is the 2nd largest city in western Washington State and surrounded by National Parks and ocean waterways. Our climate allows for visits to the beach, boating and hiking in summer, and skiing and snowboarding in winter. TCC’s campus puts you near the heart of Tacoma, close to theaters, museums, cafés, waterfront restaurants, outlet malls, and a vibrant international district.
How does a Community College work?
2 years at TCC + 2 years at a University = American bachelor's degree*
In their two years at TCC, students will receive an Associate Degree for University Transfer. Associate's degrees can be in many areas of study, such as Business, Engineering, Computer Science or Nursing.
TCC works with many institutions to offer guaranteed university pathways. Our more than 20 partner universities offer admission to TCC graduates who meet a minimum GPA. Some of these universities include Arizona State, CSU-San Marcos, Gonzaga, Oregon State, San Francisco State, University of Cincinnati, University of Iowa, University of North Carolina-Greensboro, University of Oregon, University of Washington-Tacoma, Washington State and many more!
TCC graduates may also apply to any university of their choice with the help of our academic advisors. Our graduates have been admitted to many top institutions throughout the United States, including UW-Seattle, UCLA, UC-San Diego and even Yale!
*Note: some high-impact degrees take more than 4 years to complete. For example, specialized degrees in fields like medicine, law, engineering, and nursing.
