Meet Student Blogger, Komal!

Hi! I am Komal “Komz” Muthyalu. I am Indian but I grew up in Dubai. I grew up in an Indian community in Dubai so I never felt like I was away from India. I also went to an Indian school in Dubai for a while until middle school. I dropped out after that and was home-schooled all throughout high school. I realized I didn’t like being in school and learning things I was not interested in. I felt that there was a faster way of completing high school and going to college. So, my parents and I thought the best decision was to home-school me so I could focus on the subjects that I loved. This not only helped me have more time for my family and myself, but also participate in more community related and organizational work. إقرأ أكثر

We would often hang out with other students from France and Cambodia, but they went back to their home countries. Missing them, we recalled our memories together. إقرأ أكثر

Introducing Student Blogger, Ayaka!

Carrying two big cases with my excitement and nervousness, I came to the U.S. on January 14th, 2018. The reasons why I’ve decided to study abroad are too many to list, but the biggest one is the fact that I wanted to learn about another culture. I was born and raised in Japan, so I’d never lived in another country before. As you might know, Japan is homogeneous; 98 percent of people there are Japanese. Of course, they speak Japanese, and there is no diversity. Since I was a child, I have been curious about what is like living with people who have different cultures, who are from different countries, and who have different views.  إقرأ أكثر
