About Truckee Meadows Community College

Established in 1971, Truckee Meadows Community College is located in Reno, Nevada, the beautiful American West, overlooking the Sierra Nevada Mountains. TMCC is a two-year institution serving over 13,000 students. TMCC offers more than 90 degree programs with Associate of Arts and Associate of Science Transfer degrees as well as Associate of General Studies and Associate of Applied Science degrees.

Truckee Meadows Community College is an affordable alternative to the university and many students choose to begin their academic program at TMCC before transferring to University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) or the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). Transfer agreements with UNR and UNLV make the process of transferring to Nevada state universities easy upon completion of the first two years of education. After completing 24 credits at TMCC, students may also choose to transfer to other American universities in the U.S.

TMCC works closely with the Intensive English Language Center (IELC) at the University of Nevada, Reno to offer students the opportunity to improve English language skills before attending TMCC. Students who complete the Intensive English Language Center program may easily transfer to TMCC to start their university-level coursework.

Admission to Truckee Meadows Community College

TMCC admits students each fall semester, spring semester, and summer terms. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis prior to each semester. The following are TMCC’s admission requirements.
